Being plug-and-play, Digital Sprite can be fully installed and up and recording in as few as three steps:

	Connect cameras
	Connect monitors
	Connect the power

Once powered, Digital Sprite detects and records all cameras automatically at a record rate equivalent to a 24-hour time-lapse mode, without any operator intervention.

When the advanced features need to be configured, Digital Sprite has an easy to use page by page menu system as used in Dedicated Micros multiplexers. Features are logically grouped together allowing large and small systems to be configured with very little effort.

ACTIVITY DETECTION

Digital Sprite has individually programable activity grids for each camera. Each activity grid has a 128 (16 x 8) cell matrix with five sensitivity levels. Activity detection can be configured to record cameras more often, display active cameras in full screen, close a relay and log the activity as an event.

ALARMS

Up to 8 alarm inputs per channel are available via remote alarm modules. They can be configured to record cameras more often, display alarms in full screen, close a relay, log the alarm as an event, and send PTZ cameras to a pre-set position.
 

HIDDEN CAMERAS

Cameras can be removed from the monitor display. Their images are still recorded but are not visible on the main or spot monitor, even during playback.
Improved network features mean that hidden cameras can now be viewed and played back across the network by managers, but concealed from operators

RECORDING SCHEDULE

A settable day, night or weekend schedule can automatically:
	Remove or add cameras into the record sequence. e.g. record only outdoor cameras during the night.
	Switch alarms or activity on and off.
	Select whether alarms and activity are interleaved, recorded exclusively or recorded as normal.
	Alter the record rate for alarms and activity detection - increasing the number of pictures recorded each second when an event is triggered.

STORAGE

Larger amounts of information can be recorded to disk. This depends on three factors:
	The image quality (the file size of each individual picture) Image size can be adjusted to give VHS (14KB), S-VHS (18KB) and S-VHS+ (24KB) quality as well as any user defined size up to 45 KB.
	Record rate (pictures per second) The timelapse record rate sets the actual number of pictures recorded in any given time across all cameras. This can be anything between 1 and 25 (PAL) or 30 (NTSC).
	Hard disk capacity With options of 40, 80, 150 and 320GB hard disk capacities, up to 31 days of continuous recording at better than 24-hour time-lapse mode (6 pictures per second) is possible.
